I’d heard so many great things about Bond No. 9’s New York Nights that it was the reason I finally stopped by their shop on Fifth Avenue. But while I was there, something else caught my attention - their new fragrance, Greenpoint. With summer just around the corner, this scent immediately made me think of a bike ride down West Side Highway with brunch in the West Village on a warm, sunny day.
The first thing I noticed was this fresh, juicy melon note that feels so perfect for summer. It’s bright and refreshing, with hints of pear and a little zing from bergamot and cardamom that keep it from being too sweet. It’s the kind of scent that feels like a cool breeze on a hot day - light but interesting.
As it settles, I get a lovely floral heart with rose, magnolia, and star jasmine. It’s soft and creamy without being overpowering, which adds a nice balance to the fresh fruitiness. Then, the base notes bring in some woodiness with cedar, vetiver, and a touch of musk, along with subtle marine vibes that remind me of the neighborhood it’s named after — Greenpoint in Brooklyn, with its mix of industrial charm and waterfront calm.
What I really like about Greenpoint is how versatile it is. It’s fresh and classic but still has a bit of an edge, so it doesn’t feel like your typical summer fragrance. It’s unisex, so it works well whether you want something light and easy or something with a bit more personality. I can see myself wearing it for a casual brunch, but also for a laid-back evening out.
I’ll admit, I’m usually all about gourmand, muskier, tobacco-like scents year-round — they’re my favorites and my go-to comfort fragrances. But I like to push myself to wear more fruity or floral scents in the summer, and Greenpoint perfectly fits that vibe. It’s fresh and vibrant without losing any depth.
If you’re into fresh, clean scents with a little floral and woodiness mixed in, Greenpoint is definitely worth checking out. It’s a great option for those warmer days when you want something that feels effortless but still a little special.
